We're so pleased and honored to be your local, independent, neighborhood hardware store and we want to thank you for your continued support. We have been serving the Inner Sunset community since 1948! We are members of the Ace Hardware co-op, but choose to remain independent, as we feel that it's important to buy from a variety of suppliers, so that we're able to offer you more products at competitive prices.

Still a great store Remeber when this was the only hardware store in your neighborhood? This is what hardware store use to look like before all the HUGE hardware/paint supply stores opened. Well here at true value hardware you can still get everything you need for that project for your home or school or office at very reasonable prices. Helpful Hardware Store With friendly service and a pretty full selection, Progress Hardware is a great resource for the Inner Sunset. When I don't want to trek down to Home Depot for major purchases, I am usually able to find what I need here. Not to mention that I would much rather support this small neighborhood store. Prices are reasonable and the location is incredibly convenient.
Progress is, imho, the best hardware store in sf. Joe, the manager, and Dale are tops. Dale especially has gone above and beyond the call of duty in helping me fine ways to fix up my apt. in sf. He also helped me (a new user) set up my smart phone, and showed me shortcuts to manage my pictures.

Great store, no BS and nothing to hinder you from purchasing the items that you need. This place is a perfect place for a working man of my status.
Pretty much the best place to go to if you are looking for tools and appliances that will be useful. I think I bought my water heater from them and the maintenance calls are amazing.
