A family member was recently under the care of Prisma Health Hospice. Our experience was awful. First, no attention because they confused him with another patient. Then lack of promised visits by nurses and caregivers. A doctor never saw him, and he died on 7/1 and as of today, 7/7, a doctor has not signed the death certificate. That is holding up his cremation. Oxygen was ordered but never delivered. Supplies were mailed to an incorrect address. If I could give this hospice a negative star I would. I myself am a hospice nurse with over 18 yrs of experience and simply am dumbfounded how this place calls themselves professional. What they allowed to happen to my father before he died was deplorable. Unfortunately my brother was his POA who had no medical knowledge. The nurses (all but one, think her name was Angie) barely ever spoke to my Dad when he was still coherent. He complained about this frequently.
