Horrible customer service/appreciation. We had a cruise scheduled for March10-17, 2020. We received an email from Princess Cruises on March 6 offering full cruise credit if we chose not to travel due to the Covina pandemic. Since my husband and I are in the high risk category we chose to accept the credit upon the advice of our travel agent and our doctor. Now, 9 months later, our health continues to decline and we have asked for a cash refund, providing a doctor statement. Princess refused our request. We understand that th... read more

Princess Cruises in not forthcoming with refund information due to COVID. They are not giving us any updates on potential resumption of cruises. My cruise was cancelled by them June 1, 2020. I have not received any refund or future cruise credits. It is now over 120 days. In good faith I agreed to do a future cruise in leu of a complete refund. Now I feed that my good faith was misplaced.

If I could give ZERO stars I would! Our Alaska cruise was canceled in March of 2020 for a May 2020 cruise and we still have not received our refund for the cruise fare. We have cruised on Carnival, NCL and Royal Caribbean over 20+ times. We love to cruise. This was going to be our first cruise on Princess. Our fully-paid (since February) Alaskan cruise for May 2020 was cancelled and we elected to receive Future Cruise Credit for another cruise. We rebooked for next year and paid a $200 deposit. For the cancelled cruise, we are to receive a refund for the excursions we had booked, airfare, fees, and other misc. charges (around $4,000.) After many chats with Princess and emails to my travel agent, still no refund. They did issue the FCC after my travel agent called, but that wasn't really my concern as much as the refund. We booked our cruise in January, 2020 with a departure date of October 24, 2020. The cruise, and all excursions, were paid in full. We were informed by Princess that the cruise was canceled on May 5, 2020 and that the refund would be processed back to my credit card within 60 days. As of July 15, 2020 I have not received a refund. When I contact Princess, I was informed by "John" through online chat (the only form of communication available) that the refund was still "under process" meaning that it had not been processed. I am writing to express our extreme disappointment in Princess Cruise Lines with the handling of our refund due to our cancelled cruise. We were notified on April 14th that our cruise was cancelled and was given options as to how we would like to handle the cancellation. We choose option 2, which is a full refund. We received an email confirming that our refund request was received. We pretty much have received nothing else personally from them to let us know how delayed our refund would be. Our 2020 Alaskan cruise was cancelled not by us but by the Covid virus. Princess was hesitant to return our cruise money but finally relented and about a month after the cruise would have been over they gave us our money back (after some pleading). 

Business response:

We regret to learn that Mr. Zerfas is dissatisfied with our current refund process. Our reservation and payment systems were not designed to handle this volume of refunds in a short period of time, and the process is taking longer than we wanted. As we respect our guests' money and time, we have increased the number of team members supporting this enormous effort and have made modifications to our systems. We sincerely apologize that this process was not expedited as quickly as we had initially communicated.

We have been waiting for over 2.5 months for our refund for our Alaska land/cruise scheduled to depart on May 19 from Anchorage for the land portion. Sailing from Whittier on 5/23 on Royal Princess. We cancelled on March 23 because we knew the ship wasn't going to sale, in spite of Princess pretending it was. Princess eventually cancelled. Each time we or our agent call Princess to ask about our refund we are told that we are in the "next group" to be processed for our refund and FCC. Booking. On March 12, 2020, we received a letter of cancellation of our Princess cruise departing May 5, 2020. At that time, I requested the compensation option of a full refund including excursions and airfare. Three days later on March 15, I received a "request receipt" from you acknowledging my preference for full refund. I was informed to allow 30 business days for the refund on or about April 24. Please be advised, we are not in receipt of any complaints from Mrs. Sullivan. We regret to learn that Mrs. Sullivan is dissatisfied with our current refund process. Our records confirm that on May 27, 2020 Mrs. Sullivan's refund was processed to her original form of payment.
