If I could leave no star I would! I came here in June of 2020 after having pain in my hip for two months. I woke up one day with pain in my hip so I went to the hospital and had an X-ray done in April, they said that it looked fine. So I thought maybe it was muscular and went to a chiropractor/sports med doctor. He worked with me for about a month and the pain only got worse and had to start using crutches so he suggested I go to an Ortho doctor. A word to the wise. I went to Premier ortho and the dr i saw initially told me both knees needed replacement. He made me an appointment with Dr Chow. Today was my "pre op" apt. I paid my 35 dollars for the co pay. The woman at the desk in Georgetown said anything that happened after this would not be covered as they were not accepting United healthcare anymore. I had a Good experience with the doctor. The staff is not very competent.
I am having great difficulty understanding the negative reviews for this practice. Dr. Choy was recommended by several of my doctors, including my former orthopedist in Virginia. The staff has always been polite and efficient. Waits have been very short. Communication with the doctors and PA has been unrushed and complete. And my treatment has been very conservative—with no pressure for replacement surgery even after years of knee issues. Staff is always unfriendly and very short with patients. I have never been treated so poorly by a medical facility in my life, and my background is medicine. Dr Choi is the absolute WORST doctor I have ever encountered in my lifetime. He makes judgements without physical examination. Plus, he won't even let you get a word out of your mouth. His diagnosis is incorrect and I plan to report him to the medical board.
