Dr. Pathak has been my Psychiatrist for 18 years. After experience three of his specialty prior to my first visit; I can say without reservation, that he has helped me tremendously. Initially anxiety with performance at work; then some depression issues through retirement. Lately he has been extremely helpful helping me to reduce dependency on Xanax. Now I am almost off all Benzo drugs and doning great 2021 July.
Dr. Pathak has been my Dr. for the last 5 years and I can't say enough great things about him. He truely listens and wants to help you get to the root cause/s. He helped me change my life and cope with a lot of my other medical issues,
Dr. Pathak has always helped me, listens to me, and trys to figure out the best way to help me! He's the best psychiatrist I've ever had. He's very respectful, and he's never pushed pills on me like some shrinks, we discuss what's best for me and what will work for my bipolar, anxiety, PTSD, agoraphobia, depression, also I've never had a bad experience with the staff I get along with every single one of them, respect is something you earn not demand, you respect them they respect you! One of the best doctors I have ever seen. Extremely trustworthy and truly listens. Only negative is the time spent waiting.
Despite the long waits, he is the absolute best Psychiatrist I have ever seen. He takes his time and is truly a great listener and uses every tool at his disposal to help choose drugs to make treatment decisions. Then at each visit he listens to see if there is anything to change. He systematically makes changes to only one drug at a time so together you (both) can decide if things are worse or better. One tweak at a time he works WITH YOU to come up with the best treatment plan possible.
The office makes it impossible to have a smooth visit. I have had the staff disrespect me numerous times for just asking a question. I spoke to the doctor about the trouble I was having with his staff and he acknowledged it, but refuses to address the issue. It got to the point of brining in legal counsel, because they refused to refill my son's medication. If your insurance gives you another option apart from this doctor, I would literally run far away from this practice.
Although Dr. Pathak is very good with his treatment, the office staff makes the entire visit unbearable. From calling the office, to arriving and checking in and then waiting...and waiting...and waiting, it's a nightmare. Sitting in a waiting room for 1+ hours (regularly - sometimes closer to 2 hours) is just not right. The staff is rude and the nurses/PA's are incompetent. When they remember to take a blood pressure reading, they do it incorrectly and Dr. Pathak ends up having to do it himself.
