I was referred by my general doctor for heart valve abnormalities that made her uncomfortable. Because I am asymptomatic and because the sonogram showed only mild valve function deficits, Dr. Parikh advised “masterful inactivity” and follow up in a year. I like his “It ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” approach.
