I sure miss the former owners! I dropped of a backpack blower for service over 2 months ago—called 3 times for an update and never even got a callback. Finally gave up waiting and came in to pick it up…no explanation, no apology, no refund of my deposit. Needless to say I’ll never be back—sad because this was my go-to service shop for many years.
After spending more than $200 on a carburetor cleaning in the fall of 2025, I went to start my mower in the spring of 2026, and it wouldn't start. I brought in my invoice for the work that had supposedly been completed and explained the situation to the new owner. His first question was, "Did you put gas in it?" Really? He then told me they could not guarantee any work performed under the previous ownership. That was very disappointing to hear. Prairie Lawn and Garden is now owned by Southwest Power Equipment. Be very careful because the new owner of Prairie Garden Center is a liar and cheat. He told me he would run a diagnostic for no charge on my Toro battery because it less than one year old. When I went to pick it up he charged me $35 and asked me if I expected him to work for free and that he only said he wouldn’t charge me up front.
