The doctors of Prairie Heart in Decatur found 5 blockages in the vessels of my heart ranging from 6o percent closed to 98 percent closed. Three blockages found in the right coronary artery were over 95 percent closed. I I was a widow maker ready to happen. A week later I was sent to St.John's where the doctors preformed a procedure placing three stints in that right coronary artery. Dr. Issa has given me a better quality of life ! Praise the Lord! Twice he has helped with my heart! This last time he made time within a few days to put in a pacemaker/defibrillator that took me from surviving each day to being thankful to God for each day!
I had a heart attack on 2/4/2016, I was diagnosed at Pana, and taken by ambulance to St. John's. Dr Kelley is my doctor, and as always he was straight forward and to the point. I had a catheter through my arm. He placed a stent in a blockage. I was treated wonderfully, and even enjoyed the banter while they performed the procedure. And the fifth floor nurses are angels. We were at the diagnostic center and the heart institute. Was our care perfect? No. There were times at the institute when I think we should have been better informed about what was happening with my mom, but overall they took good care of her. I will say I think the regular stay over rooms need to be updated. The room she had to stay in was extremely outdated and I was glad they released her to come home that night and didn't have to stay. The staff though was very kind and compassionate.
