I love Potbelly sandwiches. Unfortunately, the staff here is very rude and somewhat incompetent. Is this a DC thing with the labor force here? I’ve been all over the country and the world. I’ve found the staffing in DC to be problematic with a poor work ethic and surly attitude. There are many options for a quick lunch near the Navy Yard. Skip this place!
Had to repost this review because I mistakenly posted on the wrong location. Sandwich was really good, recommended by friends. However, unfriendly staff that overshadowed the good meal. They had one good employee. Will not patronize this location again. Seems like others had similar experiences. Strongly advise against going to this restaurant. The employees treat you like they’re doing you a favor when taking your order by grimacing, laughing at you when you can’t hear them mumbling, shaming their head and raising their eyebrows and just generally doing a bunch of other passive aggressive nonsense. That may seem petty on my part but then again there are a million other places that I can go eat and I’d rather go somewhere that at least treats me with ambivalence rather than contempt. Now I will.
Service 0/10. truly. I ordered food through their potbelly app from this location and it never showed up. No worries though because i know that isn’t always in the stores direct control due to third party delivery services. The problem came when I called the store at 4:30pm for a refund and was told by the manager Pwan Mills that because they have a lot of customers coming in at the moment, they are too busy to help me process a refund and to please call back 5 hours later at 9pm.
