Disappointing – Unfortunately, I waited to make a reservation to a restaurant in San Francisco 4 days before Christmas. Choices were limited, so I thought, lets make a reservation at Postrio. I have been there years ago and it was great! Not this time! I should have just had appetizers and called it a night. The appetizers were delicious and that is were it ended. 2 steaks were not cooked to specifications and 3 dishes were brought out cold. One dish was not brought out with the others. The wine list was sparce and didn't gi... read more

Great food, Not 5 star. – Go by the locals pizza grill to enter this place, had great food, the service was great and is a typical celeb name joint but give it 4 stars not 5. Nothing to do with service or food, the chairs backed up in the hall next to the tacky restrooms and the entrance to the place just does not give the right impression for the great service and food it puts out. My 5 stars and best in CA goes to the studio in laguna beach at the montage hotel much higher and 5 steps up in service and detail different cla... read more

Delicious! – The last time my mom and I were in San Francisco, we made a visit to this acclaimed restaurant. Every bit was delicious. We ended up staying for serveral hours and eating our way through several courses. I would definately recommend Postrio for anyone who is looking for a nice evening out. It can be a romantic restaurant, but we were surrounded by all different types of groups not only the couples. I loved it.

When dining in San Francisco, don't make Postrio a priority – I saved a gift certificate I received to this restaurant for a rainy day and when I finally used it, I was thoroughly disappointed. For what you pay, you can get a much better meal at other SF restaurants. My husband and I started with pulled pork ravioli - the pork was water logged with very little sauce and the pasta sheets were very thick and undercooked. The dish had a great concept but was poorly executed. Our entrees were delivered 20 minutes after our empty... read more

All Around A Plus – A group of coworkers and I were looking for a nice place to end a very busy day on 8/4. Postrio sounded like the perfect fit, and it was in every way shape and form. Reservations were easy, and upon arival, we were treated like royalty. The service in a word, outstanding. The food, phenominal. The desserts were a work of art and far above and beyond anything I have ever ordered anywhere. A member of our group has dined in some of the finest eateries around the globe and commented on the service, menu, pre... read more

Postrio was a big waste of money – For me it's not what a restaurant meal COSTS but whether I feel I had value. I stayed at the PRESCOTT last weekend and decided to eat at Postrio. Cost was 148 dollars for which we had two entrees, two appetizers, one glass of wine. I ordered wild greens with goat cheese crostini. What came was a bunch of wild greens with one TINY slice of bread with about 1 tablespoon of goat cheese. This was 12 bucks! Ridiculous! My honey made a better choice but his was 20 bucks for two mouthfuls of food.... read more

All right – At first, you walk through a seemingly small, dark passagway/bar but soon after an enthralling and grandiose scene opens itself up before you. The bread was very good, but the appetizer portions, though tasty, were a tad small and content-lacking. The steak could have been better, but the lamb was nice. The waiter, though a bit inaccessible, was intelligible and not too prententious.

An SF Gem – Jacques Pepin can't be wrong. One of his secret hang outs when he visits SF is Postrio. It's got it all: excellent food, refined service, and great ambiance. The menu is small but everything is superbly delicious. The ingredients are seasonal and the specials usually embody asian fusion. Chef Jack Yoss was nominated by Mr. Pepin as one of the best new chefs for Food and Wine magazine. Service is fluid and stealthy. Servers know the menu and are unobtrusive. The decor is pleasing. An open kitchen with fabulous coo... read more
