Postero used to be my favorite restaurant in town, but the last 3 times we've been the food has been mid. Tonight the hangar steak was undercooked and chewy. The salmon was overcooked. The smoked salmon dip appetizer was the best thing we ate. We ran out of Saltines for the dip, so when our server asked if we wanted more, I said "sure, just a couple". Shrimp "Scampi" Cacio E Pepe was really good! I got steak and tried my wife's scampi; next time, I'll get my own scampi.
Nice decor and atmosphere with very good service. The menu changes sporadically but has adequate variety. However the food does have some inconsistency. On this night the preparing chef was very heavy handed with the salt. The shrimp was too salty to eat as were some "simply grilled" vegetables. In the past this was not a problem but this night it was a big issue. If the ingredients are great you don't need salt to make it taste better.
