We visited Portland on a cruise ship and went looking for Lobster rolls. We turned down an alley and found The Porthole and were so happy we did. The food was great and the people were very friendly- we will definitely eat there again when we cruise in the next time.

The boncer. Started a fight invited a girl in to the bar as she just left out the other door did not know the other door was same place he saw her walk in with glass of water. Was in there 5 sec. Saw was same place turned to walk out and door man the same one that just asked her in slammed the water out of her hand and in the same motion slammed her breast. Then lied about it. Excellent food, very pleasant waiter. Fun experience. Will definitely go back.
We initially went to the Dry Dock for dinner but saw this place out the window and decided it was a better place to be. We paid our drinks bill and walked across the dock to an awesome reasonably priced Twin Lobster Dinner. The wait staff was kind and accommodating when we admitted we had no idea what we were doing. Peter pulled up a chair when our red, hard shelled friends arrived and demonstrated how it was done. We'd recommend this place to others for sure!
Thought we'd try it out. The service was fine, but the food wasn't to die for. The clam chowder was pretty much broth. No potatoes and I could count the tiny pieces of clam at the bottom of the bowl. The steamers were ok until you got to the last 1/4lb. They were still raw. I usually don't say anything and suck it up but I had to this time. I let our waitress know it wasn't her fault but the food was subpar. The excuse was that they had a huge Memorial Day rush and come back again at some point in the summer.
