The ambiance was nice, the decor nice as well.....however, it's the food this place is known for and it doesn't disappoint. The quality of the food justifies the menu prices. However, I ordered a porterhouse pork chop, which was delicious - but I was never told that it would be spicy. Too many restaurants assume that everyone's palate tolerates spicy food. I do intend to return.
Two friends and myself were in the city to see The View. We were looking for a nice place for lunch when we came upon the Porter House. Great choice. The service and the food could not have been better. Will certainly be back!
Always a wonderful experience when we visit Porter House. It is our "go to" for a fine dining experience (and trust me when I say we've been to our fair share high priced restaurants in NYC to feel competent enough to make that judgement call). From our personal experience, the service, food, & ambiance has always been top rate no matter when we've visited (which has been about 10 times in 4 - 5 years). Thank you Porter House for always exceeding expectations.
I had the roasted chicken, and I've had better...Now, Keens's Steakhouse I always order their roasted chicken been going there for years..Best I've ever had... I also go to Del Frisco's on 6th Ave. Very good roasted chicken..Now, I order a roasted chicken at the Porter House...Someone has to learn to do a better job....Sorry!
First time here celebrating our sons Medical School graduation. Great place!..nice ambience great good and personable service. We were even offered a complimentary bottle of celebratory champagne after our meal to say congratulations to the graduate..served and poured by no other than the owner. Great customer service! I would definitely go back.
Great food, service impeccable, view of Central Park and Columbus Circle a bonus
Everything was just perfect. I went with a pretty big group from work and we had two tables . The service was great and he good was delicious. Most everyone had some kind of steak we tried all of the sides and even had dessert. The Baked Alaska was everyone's favorite!
