I don't think people realize everything the Port has to offer the public. There are multiple public access sites spread throughout the Ports massive property, including a kayak launching point and the viewing tour to watch the ships. I love the monthly free bus tours, and the special event ones. They are incredibly informative and fun.
The Port of Tacoma's stunning lack of vision, and their arrogant lack of transparency and accountability, make us ground zero for every unscrupulous dirty industrial developer in the world. As Commissioner Bacon so accurately puts it: "we all win!"
If evil in Tacoma has a face, It's Connie Bacon. Not good people, not good politicians. I suppose if you want to bring a messy hazardous eyesore that will help destroy our planet to Tacoma, they would be glad to help;.
