Port of Call

4.5

About this business

This cozy little spot is the place to come when you just need a burger. Its small size is made even smaller by the influx of hungry folks looking for lunch. After 7p when the business crowds disperse the restaurant is not quite as crowded. Locals have announced the hamburgers to be the best in town. They are served with a baked potato if their large size is not enough to fill you. The attentive staff at Port of Call also serves pizzas, filet mignon, rib eye steak and New York strip.

Try the Monsoon!!! If your visiting New Orleans and looking to indulge, try a Monsoon while you wait and order a Cheeseburger and loaded potato for lunch/dinner. We consider Port of Call a necessary trip everytime we visit the Big Easy! Don't be intimidated by the wait, organized chaos gets you a seat in due time.

Great dive As a local dive on the edge of the Quarter, Port of Call is a gem. It has a dark and damp atmosphere with a washed up sailor motif. The decor and menu has changed little over the years. Contrary to what might be expected from a restaurant with fish nets and fog lamps, there is no seafood on the menu. The fare consists of burgers, baked potatoes and steaks complimented by large, sweet rum drinks. The food and signature drinks are incredible. The prices are reasonable. Don't be fooled by the fact that the drinks can... read more

Great burgers Port of Call has the best burgers in New Orleans and probably the south. The place has an atmosphere all of its own. The burgers come with shredded cheese and a baked potato and not fries. It is a must try!

Good burgers I went here with my wife and really enjoyed the food. The burgers are big and cooked perfectly. The cheese is shredded cheese and melts over the hot burger as you eat it. They serve it with a potato and it is a great combination.

Love it I LOVE this place! It is so old (over 100 years old, they say) and cute. Service was just okay, and my burger wasn't cooked to my liking but I still would recommend this place. GOOD drinks ;-)
