Stay away from this place! I ate here with my family on July 4th for lunch. I may have been able to look past the slow, almost non-existent service and generally dingy overall condition of this place had the food been even halfway decent. That was simply not the case. My daughter ordered spaghetti with a side of parmesan cheese. The little cup of shredded parmesan had a piece of breakfast sausage in it! It was just gross! Pretty good food, really good people By the way, the Poodle Dog is located in FIFE, not Tacoma. They really are two separate cities! What Bob H. in 2006 wrote about the chef wiping his nose was rather gross; I hope that doesn't really happen, but we all know it does in probably every restaurant. Just don't look in the kitchen!! Disrespect of the US Flag This is a comment to what First L said "Putting the Flag in the dumpster" We work at Military Base in Tacoma and we plan to eat out, try local places every month. Our co-worker decided we try Poodle Dog. After I read the review from First I determined to let everybody know about it. Management who don't think disrespecting a flag is not somebody I would like to have any business with.
HORRIBLE service I went in for breakfast at the poodle dog restaurant the tacky looking sign outside read "Good Food" too bad I cannot attest to that fact.We went in, sat down, and waited for service but the waitress was across the restaurant and never came over to help us which was weird because there were only about four couples total in the restaurant. Just average I hate saying this, but the Poodle Dog really needs some work. The service not great and the food was about average. I really wish I could give it a rave review since I think its pretty cool how long it has been there. Maybe Gordon Ramsey can visit and help out.
i loved the poodle dog restaurant! My experiences there have been many, memorable, favorable, and most importantly, will continue for many years to come. This is a long standing land mark located in the very heart of Fife. The Poodle Dog has been a stopping off point for travelers along the I-5 for over 75 years! Not impressed I ordered liver and onions and decided on salad. Asked for a "side" of mashed potatoes. I was informed that, even though it is not listed on the menu, mashed potatoes come with the meal. After about 10 minutes my entree came. The potatoes are riced, not mashed. I do not care for the texture of riced potatoes. The salad did not materialize. I did not mention it to the server as I want my salad before my entree.
Poodle Dog is Sweet! Located in Fife, this is a valley landmark. Louis Armstrong and Glen Miller have played in this lounge. It's been a happening place since the 1930's. They offer great food and a rarely-seen, authentic old-Americana atmosphere. A really fun, unique place to eat or grab some drinks.
