I've recently seen Dr. Pointon for my annual body check. Ive been in her office a few times in the past 2 years. She has always been very thorough speaking to me and her assistant about areas she sees requiring a notation to watch. She pointed out a freckle on my face to watch. She did a scraping of something I've just noticed recently on my leg. I like that she has her assistant take a photo of marks needing monitoring for comparison. I appreciate her professionalism, thorough and kind approach. My visits were never rushed.
If I could, I’d give Dr. Pointon zero stars. My mother was seeing her for 12-13 years. During my moms yearly mole/skin check for the last 3 years, my mother consistently brought up the concern for a mole she noticed on the back of her leg that was either itchy, scabby, or looked different. Dr. Pointon is outstanding. She's very thorough and efficient. Gives just the right amount of attention. I've been a patient of hers for over 5 years and couldn't be more confident in her attention to detail and alerting me to skin concerns. Highly recommended.
Dr Pointon is amazing. Gentle, compassionate, conservative. She has been my dermatologist for 20+ years and I don’t have anything but great things to say about her.
It’s disheartening as an established patient with a history of skin cancer and both parents with melanoma that when I inquired about a skin issue that I could not be seen until 2023. Due to my history, I don’t want to see the new PA for my concern (nothing against her). I don’t understand why practices don’t hedge in some ‘sick’ appointments like other doctors do. I will be moving practices because I cannot play the wait game with my skin and history.
