Professional, Compassionate and Available Dr. Lawrence (Larry) Gerson and the entire staff (professional and support) at the Point Breeze Veterinary Clinic have been taking care of our dogs for 12 1/2 years. We have always found Dr. Gerson (and all of the staff) to be extremely devoted, compassionate, professional and competent. Dr. Gerson and the staff always take the time to discuss specific issues, questions or concern with us. As our older dogâs health deteriorated during the past 10 months, Dr. Gerson, the other veter... read more
Compassionate veterinary care I had an overwhelmingly positive experience with Point Breeze Vet Clinic. I do dog rescue work and rescued two 14 yo West Highland terrier brothers who were placed in a temporary foster home. When both dogs became critically ill with a virus, they were taken to PBVC. Dr. Simard was so compassionate and loving toward both of these dogs who were kept in isolation. She knew they were rescue dogs in foster care and kept reassuring me that her main concern was that they get better not the bill. In th... read more
PT BREEZE VET CLINIC REMAINS THE BEST AROUND " Best of the Burg" is what the readers of Pittsburgh Magazine call the Point Breeze Veterinary Clinic . We agree ..........as we have used them for years and they are the best !
Confusing and Uncommunicative I've taken my dog here a few times and agree with the reviews saying this is a vet is better for experienced pet owners, and that it's common to leave confused about follow up instructions. When I'd call back with questions (when you can get through--frequently you get the answering machine during business hours because they're on the phone with others) depending on who answered the phone I'd get conflicting information about what my follow up instructions were. When I've gone to pick up medicat... read more
NOT A GOOD CLINIC FOR AGING DOGS We took our beloved dog to the Point Breeze vet clinic for 13 years, where she was primarily under the care of Dr. Gerson, but occasionally Drs. Mathias, Schroth and Berger when he wasnât available. For the first 12 years, weâd give the clinic 4 stars. Despite long waits for scheduled appointments, they did well overall and the clinic is conveniently located to us. We feel the need to write this review because the clinic fell short in the final year of our petâs life when she needed hig... read more
excellent except for Gerson I have brought my two dogs to PBVC for 5 years now. I love most of the doctors there, but find Dr. Gerson to be a pompous a**. I refuse to schedule appointments with him after two negative interactions. The other vets are lovely, kind, and intelligent. They were excellent for routine stuff, and when my dog needed emergency surgery. Highly recommend; would give it 5 starts if it weren't for Gerson.
AVOID: Dr. Gerson I love it there, just about everybody is great. I don't want to talk bad about them, but Dr. Gerson (to me) is worthless. I brought my puppy in twice for limping in his front legs. I asked for x-rays for all of his legs to check for problems. Dr. Schroth scheduled x-rays on all legs and for him to be neutered. Dr. Gerson did the surgery and x-rays. He only did the hind legs, kept referring to my dog as "she" (he's a male, he should have know he had neutered him hours earlier), said there was no reason to x-... read more
Excellent, comprehensive care I have been taking my cats to this clinic for nearly 30 years. The staff are top notch from front staff to vet assistants to the docs. The level of care is excellent and it is obvious that these folks love animals. I have had cats cared for from everything to routine care to post auto accident surgeries to neutering, de-clawing, you name it. I would recommend them without reservation.
I love the staff at point breeze. Today we had to put our family cat to rest and dr Berger . Dan gruber and jane gruber were very good to my parents thank you all.
