The fryer oil needs to be changed. My fries and my wife's fish were inedible The burger was under seasoned and the grilled onions were cut in a way that made it impossible to get a clean bite Not worth the trip
If you want an excellent restaurant experience, come here! There's nothing terrible to say about Poe's Tavern! As a pair of literary buffs, we loved the theme! Our server Mike was fast, courteous, and attentive, the atmosphere was perfect, and the food was amazing! I definitely recommend the Fish n' Chips! Delicious!
I LOVE(D) this bar when i lived in Charleston. Great decor, food was bangarang, Teddy, the bartender was amazing! Was disappointed in the new management, because Poe's seemed to lose it's style, but overall, AMAZING SPOT
My husband and I eat here every time we make the trip down from Spartanburg. We've been beaching at IOP for years and have never had anything but great food and service here. Mind you, they are very busy in peak season but that's because its worth it. Grab a table outside or on the front porch to enjoy the ambiance of Sullivan's Island's unique atmosphere!

Awesome place! Great food! Took us a minute to park and get a seat!! But loved every minute of it!! My mother and I make the trip every year for our two week vacation.. And we can't wait to get back!! It's a must stop if your in the area!!! Grab a t-shirt while your there!
Amazing food. By far the best service I have ever received at a restaurant. The place was completely packed - and our server made us feel like his only table. (That seemed to be the general consensus around the room - that the staff was amazing). We went for our last night of vacation - and Poe's Tavern really was the perfect start to the night. I don't write reviews - but they definitely get a 5 star.
