Review update: Writing as a parent whose child attended Plena, and based on additional concerns I became aware of through someone currently employed at this facility (who is a family friend and is how we were referred). I found this program mediocre at best. I had to come on and write about how amazing Plena was for our son and for our whole family. The experience and the dedication of the staff are bar none. We had been to other programs prior to coming to Plena which led to disappointment and fatigue. Plena was so refreshing because it felt like we (parents and staff) were all on the same team. Thank goodness for Plena! It was a long road but we have our daughter back. After years of anxiety and stress we are on a new road. Plena was able to work with our child and our family to learn tools and implement strategies to not only help our daughter feel confident but also help our home life be enjoyable. We are beyond grateful for the whole team. From the person who greets our daughter at the door every morning, to her therapist and her psychiatrist, we felt so well taken care of. When you go to a higher level of care you hope your child is being seen by experienced professionals. Unfortunately, this is not the case. We had high hopes, and big disappointments. No communication, disorganized. Interns… lots and lots of interns. After a lot of apologizing because of our complaints, we were finally informed by our therapist that there is a big turn over happening with staff due to internal issues and poor leadership at the executive level.
