Neigborhood black eye Every time I go into Albertons I am reminded of that "scab" called Pet City. I just don't understand the pet trade business. Repeat Happy Customer I just lost the most magnificent pet that I have loved on Sunday. I bought him 12 years ago from Pet City, and he has been a healthy, happy, intelligent golden retriver/irish setter dog. I also own a 4 year old beautiful, smart, and darling cocker spaniel that I purchased here 4 years ago. Perfectly happy It is simple thinking to conclude as some do that to buy from a pet store is to buy from a puppy mill. Of course, the conditions in a pet store are crowded. It is a pet store! Be Responsible I feel bad for the puppies at Pet City. Cramped living conditions, access to fresh air and play time is limited, eating, sleeping and elimination all happen in the same place. BUT, these conditions are nothing compared to the inhospitable and abusive environments where most of the puppies are breed. Get the registration number and the name of the breeder and you can go online to confirm the orgin of the dog. It just takes a little bit of research. VTGibs Our house is full of pets who needed a new home because the owner had to get rid of them, strays or FREE" from the side of the road. While on vacation in May we happened into Pet City. Pet City I recently got a puppy here and as much as I love him, his medical problems have nearly cost as much as he did. He is now needing surgery.
Really not a great place at all! My parents have gotten two jack russells from this shop, the older of the two (she's 6) has always acted skittish and has problems with feeding. She gets very stressed out about food and acts as though we're going to take it away from her--we've always free fed our dogs. The younger dog also has an eating issue, his issue is that he will eat so quickly that he makes himself sick, not to mention if he can he'll steal from the other dogs. My Dog from Pet City is the Best My wife and I have purchased puppies from breeders and adopted them from the pound. The best dog we ever got was from Pet City. She is a 1-year-old bundle of love. The person who helped us was very patient and helpful - we had lots questions and weren't sure we should get a puppy from a pet store. But after looking at a few other dogs and puppies we picked Tippy and now we couldn't be happier.

We love her but she has several problems learning, we also recently discovered that she has Hip problems at the young age of 8 months old, Our vet says that she most likely was inbred and or came from a unhealthy breeder...
