Those with stage fright will love this place, simply because there is no sign of a stage. Patrons are give wireless microphones, so that they can give a great performance without ever getting out of their seats. This funky hangout spot also makes a great venue for private parties.

I have had decent times here in the past but the place has become too frustrating to deal with. The Karaoke rules are confusing. First, as the sandwich board outside states, there is "free karaoke". By "free", they mean it costs $2 a song or you have to buy a drink, or sometimes buy a drink AND pay $2. But just because you paid and bought the requisite drink doesn't mean you'll get your song within two hours. Are you kiddiing me? – This is one of those create an account just to complain after seeing other peoples reveiws. The first time we came here yes we waited forever for song, but also waited forevere for drinks. The bartender, some squat little man was so coked up and blathering on about something or another to some customer I waited nearly 20 minutes to get a beer yet there was no line. Planet Rose is the best! – An awesome little spot! When another lounge screwed up our reservations they stepped in and gave us a private room to show our video and serve food. Everybody was extremely nice and accommodating and the bartenders were excellent. Thanks so much Planet Rose! you guys are awesome :)
Best bar in the entire city – My boyfriend and I have been going to Planet Rose for almost 2 years now and we have yet to find a karaoke bar equal to it. We always bring our friends, have large parties here, and every time its a blast. The owners are wonderful people who take the time to get to know their "locals", but are still kind to new people. Cool bar, great staff – Had a great night here with my girlfriends at a bachelorette party. The host Collin was super nice. Great drink prices and you can sing mutiple times. We had a blast and will definitely go back.
This place is horrible! – I paid $2. for a song, had 3 drinks, waited 2 hours and never got to sing. I saw people come in well after me sing before I got up. I saw several people sing 2 and 3 times. I eventually got my $2. back and left. I will never step foot in this dump again.
Smells like feet, Nasty karaoke DJ, one nice Bartender – When you walk in Planet Rose, don't be put off but the odd layout, leopard print carpet, or zebra couches. That's just the charm of Stuy-town, right? WRONG. The carpet makes the whole front of the bar smell like wet feet or as one friend put it, "The bathroom at a public pool." Good times! – Planet Rose is hands-down the funnest karaoke bar in the city, with superfriendly bartenders and regulars, and strong-ass drinks! The floating microphone makes it more comfortable to sing if you're on the shy side, and lets you work the room if you're not. Sunday and weeknights are my favorite.
