Went to this gym for about 4 months after I moved to Tulsa. It was about 5 minutes from my apartment so while it's not my first choice of gym, it was convenient so I got a membership. The short drive was about the only upside to coming here. The temperature was consistently pretty high, multiple times very strong cleaners were being used causing most of the place to smell strongly of bleach, and a fair amount of people who "work out" there usually just sit on a machine playing on their phone for the majority of the time. I’ve been a member of planet fitness since 2012, today I canceled my membership. I’ve been using the riverside location for several years now and I’ve never had to many complaints and I’ve never voiced a complaint while working out at the club. Since last year there has been multiple incidents of older Karen’s approaching me while using different machines and very rudely asking if I’m done with the machine while I’m clearly not, every time I say I’m still using it they then role there eyes or say something under there breath... read more

Could you please clarify the rules regarding the "clunk" alarm? I was under the impression that it was primarily triggered by excessive noise, such as loud weight drops. I'm asking because it was activated during my workout today, despite my efforts to lift weights carefully and quietly. I'm going through a difficult time personally, having recently lost my brother, and I was hoping to find some solace in my workout without drawing unwanted attention to myself. The gym is my therapy. This took it from me.
