Specialties Welcome to Pioneers Park Nature Center... 668 acres of tallgrass prairie, woodlands, wetlands and the Haines Branch stream. Since 1963 the Nature Center has served the Lincoln area as an environmental education center and wildlife sanctuary. My kids and I can't wait to go back! We went for the solar eclipse and didn't realize we would be so amazed with all this park has to offer! We especially enjoyed the elk we got up close to see and the nature center buildings were great also! They take pride in this state park and genuinely make it enjoyable, you will see when you visit!
Love visiting there. It's great to have a place where you can escape city life so close to the city. Very friendly and helpful staff.
My son (4) loves Pioneers Park and all that's included! We checked out skeletons and turtles. We saw frogs peeking out of the water on the way to the outdoor classroom. He practiced balancing on a log If you're looking for an adventure this is the place for you!
