Ocean view. Quiet private beach. Clean. I don’t know what people are talking about walking down rocks to get to the beach. There are stairs from the back deck of the hotel down to the beach. At high tides there is no beach. The water comes up to the back deck. This is not a Hilton. It’s a motel on the water. With cedar shakes. The sun and salt beats anything. I’ve stayed 3 times and never had an issue. WiFi was fine also and I use a VPN. I had no problems with internet. It is wide open so I recommend a VPN. It’s a good value... read more

BUGS EVERYWHERE IN THE SUITE. I Pd $500 to sleep in a room full of bugs, huge spiders, where we had the night maintenance guy come take care of the they were so big. The SUITE was NOT cleaned before our stay. We found cheese doodles under the couch pillows..( not the cushions.. the pillows). I booked this room months in advance. When we got there we were told the beach access was around the back of the hotel... Do your research before booking here. My friend rented one of the suites for her daughter’s birthday for one night and paid just over $400. It wasn’t a bad price at all considering we had the suite with a beautiful view and there were five of us staying in the room, however … there is no beach access… you have to climb down a steep rock wall carrying all of your belongings and then back up obviously, which was difficult when wet and sandy. This is the worst “hotel” I have ever stayed in. Not sure how it’s even called a hotel. The rooms are not clean. The walls have peeling paint and dents in them. The bedspread was stained and dirty. The room wrecked of cigarette smoke, the window on the second floor didn’t have a screen in it. We had to buy our own sheets and pillows cause we didn’t want to use theirs. I have stayed at Pilgrim Sands dozens of times to visit my Dad at Laurelwood. My last experience was (during Covid) horrible. I drive from Albany, NY after confirming several times that my room would be cleaned, have a screened window to avoid ac etc. The window had no screen... maintenance men came with no masks or gloves and said maybe a screen would be in tomorrow. I was very nervous all night, canceled the next night, no refund. The manager still hasn’t called me back. Very sad. I loved that place.

We chose to stay here because of the pictures in their website. THEY ARE DECEIVING!! There is no “beach access” unless you feel like lugging all of your stuff and your kids down a huge rock wall. Never mind that, the rooms are disgusting, dirty and dusty. EVEN BETTER... As soon as we walked out of the lobby after checking in, there was a couple right outside our room overdosing on drugs. Check out Pilgrim Sands Hotel Deluxe King Room on YouTube, then you will know. Sell the place to someone who cares.
