DOES NOT PAY SUBCONTRACTORS: HOW TO GET PAID PhilCo is notorious for not paying their subcontractors (we only found out about this after rushing out to do calls for them, were never paid, and given the run around by the office). If you look at other review sites you will see the same stories over and over again, PhilCo doesn't pay their subcontractors. We ACTUALLY did get paid! Shame on you It doesn't take a educated person to figure out how Philco gets he's business. If someone would just look into who is getting paid off. IE: the person who excepts the bids.( maybe not cash, but check to see how much debt that person has and I bet a few of he's credit cards have been paid off) Follow the money and maybe just maybe you'll be able to get the answers everyone wants. Vacation shame on you!!!!! Pay us fairly and on time and you just may have a chance to get your reputation back.
Concerned citizen Phil Schwalbe is an arrogant thief. He has made a career of screwing his subs. Finally last month, a sub went all the way thru a six week trial and won. if enough people file complaints with contractors board and the district attorney he will be stopped. He is so arrogant that he went on vacation the last week of trial. he is a crap stain on the construction industry and should be flushed.
UNPAID SERVICES Reading the reviews I guess I am not alone. I am a small business owner who provided on site facilities for the tenants and clients of place they were remodeling and 3 months after the job completed, I am still holding 2 substantial unpaid invoices for the equipment and services we performed. I have email requests from Philco stating that they needed the equipment rental term extended as the remodel project was extended ,payment promises to keep the equipement on site and still no payment received. Its true they dont pay there subs I am one of them Yes I am one of the suckers. It would appear that I have been tricked like some of the other subs who have posted complaints on here. I did a job in LA on 1 day notice for Phil co. According to the project manager It was a emergency to get it done to make the client happy. Well that was back in August and we still have not been paid. The invoice is pretty small but its the principal. My opinion is the entire company is in on it. It's true It is interesting that Phil has a sister named Amy H. I will not provide your last name out of respect for your privacy. The things that are being written about your brother are true. His business practices are illegal and unethical. I know these are hard things to hear, but Phil is in for a very big fall. He has ensnared himself in a web of lies. None of us wish him ill will. STOP! Do Not Hire This Unethical Contractor! I hired PhilCo in 2010 to complete a small tenant improvement project. It was scoped for 6 weeks and took 9 weeks. My time managing and overseeing PhilCo was nearly a full time job. I was assigned 5 supervisors in the first 5 weeks of the project. Nothing got done in the first 5 or 6 weeks despite my regular (ultimately daily or twice daily calls). Immediately after I made my final payment to PhilCo, a sub called to say they hadn't been paid. Liar and Crook He may do beautiful work, but Philco pays his subcontractors very late if at all. Some over 120 days. Some are paid when they threaten to lien your property. He knows how to cover his butt when push comes to shove to make everything look legit, but it is not. Phil Schwalbe is a liar and a crook.
