We learned that the State of California was holding financial assets that belonged to our family. For recovery, we were referred to Pettinato & Associates by a local attorney. We found the firm to be honest and diligent in their efforts on our behalf. They did a good job of explaining the process and kept us updated along the way. Highly recommended.
At first I felt these guys might be dubious when they contacted me about a refund I was owed from the state of California (I’ve been living in Florida since 2022). I proceeded with their process and thought it did take time, I got the funds CA owed me by check about 4.5 months later. Very pleased with this result. Professional firm and I would work with them again.
I personaly do not recommend this private investigative service to anyone looking to find their lost assests from the state of California.. This company put me through a traumatic experience by telling me my funds were coming and that I would be able to pay off my school debt. The money never came to me. They assured me it was fast tracked and the funds would be expedited to me before May 2025, this also ended up being a lie. I don't understand the value add of using this company for my unclaimed property. I only received a letter from Pettinato & Associates *after* I had already begun the claim process myself directly with the state. My claim is not complicated--why would I pay someone else 10% to still have me provide the same info I submitted directly? I saw another review saying the person got their claim in 6 months using this company, but that is the state's noted processing time anyway. I really don't get it. I wasn’t sure if I could trust Pettinato & Associates when I first received their letter, but after struggling through the unclaimed property process on my own, I wish I had contacted them sooner! Scott was extremely knowledgeable and responsive, even taking time over the weekend to answer my questions. He provided clear guidance, making the appeal process much smoother.
