goldfish in response to alma j.'s comment, it is unethical to keep goldfish in a bowl. they do require a small tank with a filtration system to stay alive for more than a few days. when i brought home some goldfish from school, i too mistakenly believed that it was ok to keep them in a bowl, but once i did some online research, it quickly became clear that goldfish need the same kind of care that other freshwater or tropical pet fish do. rather than being a "young punk," the guy who tried to sell you a tank is actually a kno... read more

Bad management My husband and I took our 2 years old grand daughter to buy her a tiny gold fish at pets mart in Hillsboro on 25Th st. she loves Elmo and elmo has a goldfish named Dorothy in a small bowl the young boy called manager did not sell one to us because they grow too big and we needed to buy a 10 gallon fish tank ( that is not what elmo has) or a ugly black fish and expensive too! this young man wanted to make a sale trying to make us buy something we didn't wanted so I asked to talk to the manager ( not knowing he ... read more

This Pet Store Has It All! This pet store has it all and is definitely one-stop shopping from pet food to toys to grooming - - everything for the pet lover. There is even a veterinary clinic inside the store. I have great luck using their grooming facilities with my dog and they have always done a great job. Within walking distance is a Baja Fresh restaurant with outdoor sitting so your pooch can enjoy lunch with you. PROS: Large store with very large inventory and good prices CONS:

Catagories When Banfields first started their dog daycare they handed out fliers and in them it said no "bully breeds allowed aka pit bulls" and wolfhounds were not allowed either. I understand pits have bad raps but at least judge it on a dog by dog basis.

Um, DUH. To alma - it sounds like you heard an answer you didn't want to hear. Goldfish produce a lot of ammonia and bowls are bad for them - maybe you should learn to use google. Would a girl manager have been better? Wouldn't have changed the answer, and if I were buying a goldfish I'd want them to tell me how to take care of the thing PROPERLY. Sounds like they were trying to, but as you said it's a free country and if you want to be an uneducated idiot abusing your goldfish you're unfortunately free to do so. I've always... read more

What more could you ask for? Petsmart is an example of what a pet store should be. They offer a wide variety of products and you can always find what your looking for. The employees seem to actually enjoy working there and helping you out. Petsmart also has a grooming center which I have taken my dog to. They are reasonably priced and friendly people! PROS: Friendly Staff, Reasonable Prices CONS:

Helpful staff, and plenty of variety. I prefer the privately owned pet stores, but I found Petsmart to be very helpful and reasonably priced. If you're looking for something more exotic or rare, call first.

Wrong Priorities I took my 1 yr cock-a-poo in for grooming early on a Sunday morning. When I booked appointment they stated need proof of current vaccines. I couldn't find my rabies certificate but brought my Washington County license information with me(which can not obtain w/o rabies vaccine) They stated that was not proof. They wouldn't even allow me to leave dog and wait 30 for my vet to open so they could fax certificate. What a waste of time. Petsmart should be more concern with dog in their store having proof of curre... read more

We did dog training with Jenn and she did a wonderful job with our scared mastiff pitty mix. She was very attentive to his needs and found ways around making him do things he was not comfortable with at the same time teaching him the same skills as other patrons in class. My 11 year old daughter did most of the training and I was very impressed at how much Jenn encouraged her to keep trying and keep practicing. If you are considering taking puppy training I would encourage you to take them with Jenn! She made the whole exper... read more
