Run away! I had MRIs and the obvious diagnosis of a larval tear.after weeks of wait, the spent maybe 2 minutes tops out of the room, maybe reviewing them, maybe not. Said it was hip dysplasie (it was NOT), and to schedule a surgery that would cut the hip bones apart, grind them, use metal spiral devices (this site disallows the correct use of the word, I guess they don’t like the word, though it is the right word...you’d find a common version at the hardware store if you were building something with wood, in order to connect... read more

My daughter has bilateral hip dysplasia and has had her RPAO. I couldn't be more grateful to Dr. Peters and his knowledgeable staff. My insurance was through IHC and we were not covered at the U of U. Since he was the only available doctor we were able to push it through the insurance. I will be changing my insurance during open enrollment to guarantee that her LPAO will also be done by Dr. Peters. I wouldn't let any other doctor touch her especially with such an invasive surgery. I have been on PAO Facebook pages with peopl... read more

Had a PAO by Dr. Peter's and couldn't be happier. The staff has responded quickly back to me with all of my concerns or medication refills. I feel this was the best decision I made to help with my hip pain.

Called in for an appointment & they couldn't even tell me if Dr Peters takes my insurance or not...Seriously?!? I was also told he was booked out until the first of 2014. The pain in my hip is excruciating & going an additional 4+ months just to get an appointment is ridiculous! Because they were so unknowledgable about the most basic insurance provider & scheduling questions, I was given the traditional runaround & recommended that I leave a message with the assistant. The receptionist was rude, short & very unhelpful, from... read more

I have had one total knee replacement by Dr. Peters, and since my surgery, with the complications I had, I saw/talked to him only once, and he truly did not seem to care. One of the worst experiences of my life, and his staff was little better.

This surgeon is tops in his field. Since this is a teaching hospital, he always has interns or residents assisting, sometimes even covering for him in the pre- and post-op clinical evaluations. I have had two total knee replacements by Dr. Peters (Dec 2007 and Dec 2009) and would recommend the procedure and this surgeon to anyone considering knee replacements. He DOES NOT discharge patients with an eliptical movement machine, relying instead on patient motivation and self discipline to accomplish the work necessary to comple... read more

I will NEVER go to this doctor again. While he knew his stuff his bedside manner was horrible, he wouldn't listen to me, and he and his staff were the worst. I am the customer and they made me feel like a burden. He never listened to me as a patient and my recovery has been that much harder because of it. I know that a great surgeon is awesome, but they need to realize that patients are people too. I could never, in good concious, reccommend him to even an enemy. I feel that recovery is speeded by a good attitude, but with s... read more

Dr. Peters has a very busy schedule and sees many patients. He has many people that work with him so you might see more of his staff then him. But he know what is going on and is the best doctor to perform the (PAO) surgery in the mountain west and hips. I am still only four months out from surgery and time will tell how well I recover. He is not the most personal DR i know but making me feel good dose not fix my hip. Dr. Peters knows how to do a great job on the surgery table and that is what really matters. He is a very ni... read more

Dr Peters and his fellow were very nice and thorough with the consultation. He wasn't very clear on his explanations and the wait time was long. His staff was very brusk and seemed irritated when they had to schedule additional appointments for me. Overall things were not too bad. I will see him as a physician because he truly understand how to help my particular case and I will be patient with the staff.
