I had prostate cancer and elected to have my prostate removed. I searched all over the US for the best doctor and facility and found Dr Carroll and UCSF to be among the best in the nation. The staff and Dr Carroll were outstanding to work with and my surgery was incredibly precise, minimizing the side effects such a surgery can produce. I highly recommend Dr. Carroll!
I was attended by Dr. Carroll and we decided to go on active surveillance as my risk at the time was low. Gleason 3+3 and a PSA of 4.0 so I ended up being on active surveillance for 3 1/2 years. When my Gleason score changed to 3+4 and my PSA to 5.6 I decided to seek treatment which was Cyberknife radiation this past year. After tests & biopsy revealed that my prostate gland was cancerous. I did an initial consultation with radiation & surgical docs & decided on my best bet with robotic surgery being preformed by Dr Peter Carroll @ UCSF (Radical Prostatectomy via Laparoscopic da Vinci Robot). Essentially pain free & up and walking later the same day. 3 1/2 years later I'm still cancer free. Could not recommend more highly!
