Cool spot for cocktails
Peter Kern used to be a quiet, special place you could come and feel like it was different than every other bar in Knoxville. We used to come often, but now it's loud, obnoxious and there is no enforced dress code. The food is gone, and an " artisan drink" is $16. I understand the economy has influenced change. However, a bottom shelf mezcal should not be half the price of the bottle. The term library does not apply here. It is very loud and I could not here my party nor the music that was playing. Dress code is more or less a suggestion. I saw people coming in and out with shorts, hats, t-shirts. Would not recommend coming back and I myself would not come back anytime soon. Very disappointed with my experience.
Neat place but small and awkward.
The Peter Kern Library is a great spot for a cocktail before or after dinner. I enjoy the “speakeasy” vibe, in the heart of Downtown Knoxville. From my understanding, they frequently update their menu so you can always try something new each visit.
