Dr. Lowe is a very caring, professional, excellent in his field of Retina specialists. I would recommend him over many other Retinal Specialists
Dr Lowe made the floaters worse . Had one small now it is a huge mass of dark floaters pieces disrupting vision. He hit the lens in my eye and caused a cataract as well. I do not recommend this procedure because if he screws up it will cost YOU 10's of thousands of dollars to repair his mistake like it did me.
Dr Lowe told me I would be a perfect candidate for Vitreolysis for my floaters as I had a bunch in one eye. I went in for three treatments cost $1500 and noticed very minor improvement, I would say 3 out of 10. He was always in a rush in all these treatments. My third treatment was the worst, too short because the assistant didn't wait until my eyes dilated and he started the treatment and had to stop in the middle. if you have floaters there is no cure for it, do not get Vitreolysis done
I can't say enough about Dr. Lowe and his staff they went above and beyond to assist me. They were all very patient and obviously experts working with seniors that are a little panicked with visual problems. I never felt rushed and the receptionists technicians as well as Dr. Lowe explained and answered questions without making you feel like you were wasting their time. They saw me in an emergency and stayed open beyond their regular hours. I found them to be pleasant, courteous professionals.
I was elated to find a doctor that could help with my floaters. However, I had a higher expectation of the final result. I had both eyes done at different times at a cost of roughly $1400/ea. This price included a follow-up treatment. Additional treatments are $300/ea. My floaters appear as a smudge in my field of view and although the treatments helped to some degree, they continue to "drive me crazy". I feel I should have had a better outcome after spending upwards of $3500.
The eye floater symptoms presented themselves rather suddenly and I was fortunate to find Dr Lowe and get in his care quickly. The entire experience was a blessing high in trust. The entire office staff is highly professional, they exude confidence and personality. One senses they are a well structured Team. Dr Lowe? Well he is one great Ophthalmologist in my opinion!
After cataract surgery, I developed a large floater in my right eye. I was sent to Dr. Lowe and suggested laser for removal of the floater. Cost was $1500. I had 3 treatments and after the 3rd, I believed that the floater was gone. After 1 week, it came back with a vengeance. After I was told that the left eye was good, i now have numerous floaters. It is a challenge every day to see. I was called to come back. I will not spend another dime for something that doesn't work.
Business response:
In certain cases floaters are simply too large to vaporize completely with the laser. In these unusual cases a surgical vitrectomy may be advisable.
Good doctor and effective treatment, but he books a lot of appointments at the same time and therefore wait times are very long.
I have been going to Dr. Lowe for 10 plus years for vision problems related to Diabetes. I have always found him to be very competent and knowledgeable.
