I wanted to commend the closing shift team at your Westfield Garden City store yesterday. I arrived about 10 minutes before close to purchase a pyjama set and, despite the team being busy updating promotional signage, they were unfailingly polite, welcoming, and attentive. One staff member kindly helped me navigate the website on my phone, and another provided thoughtful advice on sizing and fabric selection. My mother, my daughter and I went in yesterday to buy matching pjs. The store was empty. Two teenage girl staff members were laughing and talking. They saw us, stopped talking and glared at us. No welcome, hello, smile or are you looking for something specific. My mother and I were shocked by their complete lack of professionalism. I walked past the counter to give them another chance. I want to give a big shout out to the store manager Kelly and sales assistant Charlie. I originally called the store and explained to Charlie about a fault I had on an item to which she was extremely helpful and informative about the process. She asked if I could come into store to further investigate this matter and I finally was able to pop into store. When arriving at the store Charlie greeted me and then got her store manager Kelly. Today, I bought two gifts for my friends. For one of them, I even paid extra for gift wrapping. When I asked for a regular shopping bag—not one of the discounted or promotional ones—one of the staff gave me a dismissive look and reluctantly said, “We’ve always used this white bag.” I mentioned that I had just seen other customers leaving with a different bag.
