This review is specifically for the staunton va location and specific to the groomers present on the day of 6-12-22.Had a grooming appt. My daughter arrived on time and walked out. There was no way you can be asked to leave your beloved pet for hours within a miserable setting such as this one and pay a HIGH dollar for it. Unhappy people produce unhappiness....we all know this.Watch out people, the world isn't what it once was.....
I stopped in to the Petco in Staunton Virginia Friday night to buy some fish for my aquarium. The lady I asked for help refused to sell me fish. She said we were getting a storm Sunday and she didn't want to open the tanks to lose the heat in case their power went out. I kind of get it but from Friday night to Sunday night should be enough time for the tanks to heat backup. I think the real reason is she just didn't want to help me. After spending a bit of time choosing fish only to find I couldn’t purchase fish because apparently all the tanks had new fish within the last 24 hours. Hard to believe did not have any signs or ask which fish I even was interested in....
Wouldn’t let me enter the store without putting a mask on my 3 year old. Which I did not have because he is 3! And they didn’t have any to provide lost my business. That’s not even the state mandate

I entered into the store with a mask on but apparently not wearing it properly and The associate would not help me without wearing my mask appropriately, so I left ... this is my choice whether I wear one or not. I will never shop in the store again. Absolutely ridiculous!
worst customer service ever! tried to return a fish and all i received was attitude. The pet store needs to improve on its employees or they're going to lose alot of customers. I asked the same cashier what the return policy was on fish and he said 14 days, nothing else. come in the next day and with extreme attitude I get told i need a water sample, receipt, and 14 days. DON'T BUY FISH OR PETS IN GENERAL FROM HERE, YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE TO DEAL WITH THE CRAP SERVICE TO GET WHAT YOU PAID FOR.
I went in tonight to purchase a front hook harness for my fur baby Mika and the young lady that helped me find what I was looking for was AWESOME!!! She talked me through on what was best and was so sweet. I hope to see her again when we go back.
I absolutely love this store!! My pups & I are in there at least every 2 weeks if not more! All the staff are so friendly and helpful. And I adore the manager, Heather! We especially had A ABSOLUTE BLAST at the Halloween Costume Contest!! Our dogs costumes even came from Petco😉
