Commercial, but convenient I usually prefer to go to smaller pet stores because the staff seems more knowledgeable of their animals, but this Petco does have well-trained staff. Their shelves are usually well stocked and the store is clean, even though there are a LOT of dogs that come in the store! Most recently they put in kid-sized carts, a really cute way to keep the kids entertained. PROS: Convenient location, open late CONS: Not willing to custom order certain items

the fish... Every time I've gone in here the fish are in awful health. 75% of the tanks are filled with fish that are suffering from ich (a contagious parasite), and the majority of the tanks have dead fish in them. These infected fish aren't in the back being treated, but up front waiting to be sold. Selling a sick animal is wrong whether it's a fish or not. If you are a new fish keeper or not willing to nurse one back to proper health, you're going to want to do some research and look for better aquarium stores in the area... read more

Pricey, but convenient This chain store has a little bit of everything you need for your pets. I've found their prices to be a little high as compared to online stores or Walmart, but if you need it today, they have it. I've had good luck purchasing fish from them. A few that died within the 2 week guarantee period were replaced with no hassle. Sometimes they seem short on staff - no one on the floor to help you if you need it. PROS: Convenience CONS: Price

Bad Experience We took our dog here for a clip. When we picked her up, something was obviously wrong. She was skittish and fearful- not at all herself. She had been groomed regularly at other places and never seemed to be upset by it. Something definitely happened to her at Petco and it took her several days to recover. Although it seems perfectly safe since the grooming table is in view through the front windows, there are other rooms not visible. We believe she was handled too roughly by inexperienced groomers.
