First time in Chicago attending a conference and visitng a friend. It was great finding your coffee shop, Joe and Melissa.. Loved the warm and cozy atmosphere , like being in my kitchen with family and friends. Best Cappucino (thanks for the Almond milk), delicious scone, and fabuous Cubinski. Looking forward to my next visit to Chicago and Perkolator!!! Great hosts and, great staff!!
Excellent coffee grown locally. Well in Michigan but at least in the Midwest. They tell their grower specifically how they want their beans roasted and when done its trucked out that same day. Very fresh. Much better than any of those "chain" coffee houses. Great bakery selection and decent breakfast menu plus lunch choices. Decor is retro 1950s which I love. Charming place and lovely people running it. It was really nice talking to both of them, Joe and Melissa, while enjoying espresso. I'm sure looking forward to stopping at Perkolator again and again!
The absolute BEST coffee anywhere! I tried the Sausage, Egg & Cheese Brioche this morning. Fantastic! Freshly made and so delicious! The owner was so warm, welcoming and very sincere. This is my new regular place. Can't wait to try a sandwich for lunch! The art/decor is beautiful too!
I stopped by today to get out of the house and do some work. Not only was my pumpkin spiced iced tea delicious, but the sea salt and chocolate scone was heavenly! Free wifi and a jamming playlist on the speakers made it easy to get 2 hours of work done. A steady stream of locals stopping in was nice to see. I will for sure be back for more!

Portage Park didn't just need another new coffee shop. It needed a fantastic one, and it got just that. Beautiful decor, great pastries, delicious coffee (from people who clearly know coffee) and a very warm, welcoming vibe. Looking forward to trying a latte from that wicked-looking espresso machine.
