I was told by the Chevrolet dealer that I needed a new engine at a cost of over $6,000.00! I got a quote from Performance Automotive that was considerably less. After taking my vehicle to Performance Automotive I was told that all I needed was a starter! Wow, the dealer failed to diagnose my vehicle correctly and charged me over $100.00 I highly recommend Performance Automotive. They are honest and they have much lower prices than the dealer.
This shop is second to none and I can see why they were voted the best mechanic shop in Bakersfield. While traveling through Bakersfield with my family, we developed car trouble. I needed to be to work the following day and I was in a real bind. I was considering renting a car but the auto rental companies were either closed or did not have any rentals on this Saturday afternoon. Don't take your vehicle here – Dishonest people and sell parts you don't need for your vehicle. I had taken my car here for an engine light problem. After selling me 950$ worth of parts I still had the problem a few days later. I took it back and they said I had another problem that was not associated with it. Found out that the catyletic converter was bad throwing off my light, the smog shop I had taken it to said it was plugged and not working.
