This an archetypal American style diner, the type that has become quite hard to find anymore. If you understand that type of restaurant and atmosphere, then you'll love The Pepper Pod. Very friendly staff, and they even have liver & onions. Go there, so they stay open.
We loved it! Great friendly service, good food and clean! I read other reviews about the smoking, but they immediately offered us the non smoking room! We will go back!
My boyfriend was in the mood for a burger and i told him about the Fat Eddy. He was more than satisfied. The food and service is always exceptional. Love this place.
Stopped for breakfast, but could have had anything from the menu. The food was exactly as you would expect from a traditional diner, hot and tasty. I had the Cincinnati favorite "goetta" as a side and really liked it. There is nothing fancy here. The service was fast and friendly and I will be back to next time I'm in Newport. I hadn't been in a restaurant that allowed smoking in several years, but the smoke level wasn't bad. There may be a non-smoking area, but it didn't appear open when I was there.
All I can say is I've been eating here since before I could walk that was 40 years ago.. The food is always great and the staff are just as good, prices are more than reasonable, if you haven't had a meal here I would say put it on your bucket list cause you sure can't go wrong here...
