Pretty horrible service. when I walked in, there wasn't even someone at the front desk. Another barber who was with a customer had to call someone to come forward. The person who came forward had AirPods around his ear and barely offered me a drink. He just looked generally uninterested in being there. No smile, no service. He just checked me in. I really wanted to like People's and went here for about a dozen haircuts over nearly a year (my hair is really short) but it just didn't measure up. It's expensive for what it offers; the cut quality was wildly inconsistent from barber to barber; there's an annoying venmo-based tipping system; sometimes I would book one specific barber but be seen by another with no explanation; the staff was generally indifferent; and punctuality was a constant issue. The Townsend location is the worst barbershop in San Francisco by far. The stylist didn’t pay attention to a single world I said and he gave me the worst haircut I’ve ever had. He kept apologizing towards the end and offered a discount but I’m extremely angry he did not follow the instructions. I will definitely dispute the credit card charges for this haircut. Avoid this location, you’re better off cutting your own hair.
