If you sign up for promotion, just be sure to keep track of the dates. When our promotion was over, our bills doubled, sometimes tripled. Pennywise has exorbitant fees as well. If you are at all late paying your bill, even by a day, they charge you a $20 fee for sending you a disconnect notice in addition to the late penalty fee. Representatives are by the book and couldn't care less about helping. Lastly, they were originally Discount Power, then went to Pennywise, then went back to Discount Power. This company, their unethical policies and their customer service are despicable! I never even asked to be their customer. I entered into a 12 month agreement with Discount Power and they sold my contract to these scoundrels! The last month and a half that I was forced to be their customer have been a horrible experience!! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!!! They will not honor my initial service agreement that I had with Discount Power. I filed a complaint with PUCT and am awaiting a resolution.

I had called to cancel service mid-July 2018 because I was moving at the end of the month. I was told that I would receive my final bill in August. Now it's September 2018, and they have no record that I called to cancel service. I'm stuck paying for 2 months of service that I didn't live there.

Pennywise advertises 12 months worth of service. Their billing dates are a total scam and will end up billing you an extra month. I joined them on the 16th of the month. Get the first bill and they say their billing dates are the 1st to 30th. So for the first 16 days they charge you a full block of energy and do not prorate anything for joining in the middle of their billing period. History On June 26, 2017, Pennywise Power received an online request to switch the electric service at **** ****** ***** with Pennywise Power effective for the requested date of August 14, 2017 and the request was processed. I switched to Pennywise on my previous REP contract expiration date and then received a bill for just 2 days from Pennywise, which included a monthly base charge. I called to protest receiving a monthly base charge for just 2 days, and asked why I was charged for just 2 days in the first place. They said that by billing cycle ended 2 days after my previous contract expiration, hence the 2 days. My next bill would be for a full month, I was assured. Terrible onboarding experience as a new customer. I was confirmed to have service on 7/5 when I called on July 19. On July 20th, I was told I only had service for one day because "someone" canceled it. The customer service is out of Mexico. I could not get a satisfactory answer from a phone supervisor as to when I would be back on their service and receive a bill.
