Pannella spent most of his time telling me why I should vote for his wife for the school board than addressing my issues about my previous skin cancer diagnosis. DO NOT recommend.
I saw Dr. Pennella for a very minor skin problem. I was subjected to his opinion on every hot button school-related social topic out there. He was arrogant, abrasive and we completely lost the reason why I was there as things got deeper in the mud. I tried to shut the conversation down four times before he finally just left the room- no follow up instructions, and I did not get to ask my second skin-related question. good doctor, highly recommended! Also, some of these reviews dont make sense. Dr Pennella has never been on call, at least in the past 5 years he hasn't been.
I requested a fungal culture to diagnose my atypical inflammatory tinea capitis infection but it was refused. PA York misdiagnosed me with alopecia areata and prescribed a strong topical steroid. It caused a painful flare up resulting in additional hair loss. At that point I had to call several times to get a response from Dr Pennella’s office, who finally offered to see me in 6 weeks. I waited over 2 months to get in with PA, Erin York for my scalp infection. I had 3 visits and never received a proper exam, was only ever taken into a consult room. I requested a diagnosis for a suspected condition of inflammatory tinea. I did my research and expected a hair pluck, lesion scraping or dermoscopy exam. Was told none of those would change treatment and prescribed antifungals. No success by follow up, so again I asked for a woods lamp that shows m canis infected hairs to put on a slide. Would not recommend to anyone. Saw him for over a year for a chronic condition. He never initiated an appointment, he never learned my name, he didn't even set his clipboard down most of the time, just looked like he was too busy to deal with me. Offered an aggressive plan and then never followed up. When it didn't work, he was rude and condescending. Dr has taken off cancer areas on my body. I trust him, his personality is good, he came highly recommended to me. He is very thorough and observant!
