Very disappointed with the homophobic article called, "no pride". Can't believe the level of hatred and stupidity this paper is allowing. I would close up shop if you can't figure out how to write news and not hate speech!

Giving a platform to hateful anti-gay rhetoric is unacceptable. Journalists have a responsibility to consider how the information that they put out into the world will be used.

Anyone who lives on the Peninsula knows that we value community and kindness over all else. By publishing Mr. Ludke’s letter and giving him a platform, you have aligned your paper with homophobia and hate speech. Your publication had every opportunity to not publish this piece in the first place, or retract and apologize. Not only were his words disgusting, they could have severe consequences. Shame on you for placing shock value over compassion.

The editors at the PDN should know better than to publish hate speech. It is not acceptable to hide behind the excuse that Letters to the Editor do not represent their own opinions - by publishing this, they are in fact aligning themselves with homophobia and animosity towards the LGBTQ community.

They published an Op Ed of sorts from someone who is very homophobic. Sure there’s room for differing opinions in public discourse, but certainly a publication such as this should exclude opinions that incite hatred and exclusion towards a certain group of people. I thought we were better than that.

The recent publication of homophobic hate speech, even in the form of “someone else’s opinion” is vile. The fact that the PDN chooses to hide behind the excuse that this is free speech and not hatred towards a targeted group of people is laughable, and I will make sure to let everyone possible know they too should stop supporting this newspaper.

In 2019, the PDN decided that an opinion comparing gay people to literal animals was a good idea. Look forward to this February, when local white supremacists write in and suggest that African-Americans need to stop brainwashing us with their agenda every February during black history month! Boycott this paper until it decides to join everyone else in the 21st century.

Sick of being forced to re-login after clicking each of their articles. They do not allow others without a subscription to read any articles w/o paying $.75 a day and even then flood the page with advertisements. Poor business etiquette to be so exclusive yet overbearing with unwanted adds. Also disgusted with them after secretly editing a paid promotion for a local gun shop to instead, represent the opposite of their intent.

Costs way to much for the little bit there is of a paper. Shows pictures of accident scenes before families know if it is their family member. Very bias.
