Giving press to homophobic editorials points to the intolerance of the people in charge of the content at PDN. The opinion piece "No Pride Month" by Jerry Ludke is absolutely shameful. The North Olympic Peninsula suffers when you paint it out to be an unwelcome place to visit for the very diverse people of Washington. Secondly it is a slap in the face to the local LGBTQ+ community and reeks of puritanical dogmatic hatred.

the Peninsula Daily News could probably benefit from not having homophobic, racist, sexist, and other prejudiced writing published. It is disdainful and encourages hateful behavior towards specific demographics.

Nothing the PDN tries to report ever turns out very accurate, and its never just a story, usually full of opinions and biases that should be left out of newspapers. Go read KONP, much better reporting done over there.

Publishing hate speech is unacceptable. Allowing an article to slander the LGBT community during pride month is tacitly placed and disrespectful not only to the LGBT community, but to any parents who have LGBT kids who have struggled throughout their lives to find acceptance in this world. Can’t wait until you publish a racist article about African Americans during black history month. Shame on you and to everyone who allowed this to happen in your office.
