We needed to have some windows replaced because of a house fire. We called Pella and a rep came and showed us a casement window on his computer that looked like what we wanted. We ordered those windows based on what we saw on his computer and him agreeing with us that the windows would look like the pictures he was shown. The windows were installed while we were at work. DON’T use Pella. I purchased eight windows and three patio sliding glass doors from Pella for over $17,000 (before discounts). When the black PVC trim on the patio sliding door warped, I found out that Pella had knowingly installed a defective product. According to a Pella Senior Logistics Supervisor “When PVC is painted brown or black, it was[will] absorb so much heat that it will warp....” Pella knew the PVC trim would warp and installed it anyway. Great windows. While expensive they help make a comfortable home. They do install for you if you'd like, but they are pricey.

We looked everywhere for a quality patio door and found we could get a Pella door at Lowes or directly from them in Plymouth. The cost difference was significant, but we bought into the premise that the Pella location would do a better job installing than Loews. Bottomline, we should have saved the money and gone with Lowes. If you need servicing on your windows, response time is extremely slow. It took over 2 months from initial service call to receiving parts. This was more time than it took to initially order the windows. The 2nd visit they had not received the correct parts and a 3rd service call was scheduled a month later. They are not flexible in scheduling service appointments and are usually at least 2 weeks out.
