Located close to Merrill Field, Peggy's is one place which will give you quality food at reasonable prices. You will enjoy the chicken and burgers. The restaurant is always packed, so go without a reservation only if you consider yourself extremely lucky. Peggy's also offers some really great home-made pies and some huge pancakes. Link moose sausage and three egg omelets also are a must try. The brilliance of the food on offer makes you forget the lack of alcohol. End your meal with hot strawberry cakes or fudge shakes.

Good Breakfast and Pies -- Skip Them For Lunch & Dinner I've had a many a meal at Peggy's, as it is very close to the airport. As much as I like Peggy's I still can't recommend them for lunch or dinner. I've had too many less than par experiences with the food quality. Caring People make the Resturant Great! I've never personally eaten at Peggy's but when faced with a dilemma, I found them on the Internet. My son is based at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage and was unable to come home for Christmas this year. The only thing he asked for was my homemade Derby Pie. Mmmmmmm PIE! Whenever I get homesick for some of my grandmas pie, I head to Peggys! They have the MOST amazing homemade pies in flavors I thought were only in dreams. My absolute favorite is the sweet potato pie. It is sweet but not too sweet and the crusts are so obviously homemade, it's like you are back home again. Peggy's pies are to die for. With mile high whipped cream or meringue. Loved each and every slice of pie I bought. While visiting I made sure to get my "pie fix" every day.
The waitresses bussed tables, played cashier and buttered my toast without washing their hands! i could've had tastier food from McDonalds, not to mention more sanitary. What a waste of money!
