What an AMAZING experience!! This has been a rough ride for both of us to understand but Dr. Eileen Stewart hit it out the park! She made the ultrasound so smooth and explained everything in detail. After the ultrasound she printed 4 drawings for us and used red and blue markers to explain the blood flow of a normal heart and what Branson’s heart looks like and what each surgery would entail in deep definition. Dr. Wong has been seeing my 13 year-old son for 13 years now. Our biennial visit today was sooo much like the very first one (compassionate and reassuring)!
Dr. Shapiro, Dr. Wong and Dr. Holt are all wonderful physicians! They take their time explaing everything in detail and really care about the well being of your child. The office staff is very sweet and friendly. I definitely recommend this group!!
Can't do better than Dr. Holt My wife and I were blessed with the birth of our son, and two days after delivery were devastated by the news that he had a heart murmur which needed further evaluation. As you can imagine, this was gut wrenching. That's when we met Dr. Byron Holt with Pediatric Cardiology of Austin. He clearly described our son's problem, and outlined a course of action which eventually included a heart catheterization. Parents know their child better My son was seen by Dr. Shapiro the day after his birth and diagnosed with a VSD...Dr. Shapiro recommended that we do nothing; the hole would not cause any issues for him. Two years later when we complained of frequent and long rests while playing, Dr. Shapiro told us it was not related to the heart defect...we got another opinion and had the surgery done...just days later our son was out running all of us and has never slowed down or requested a rest since. best pediatric cardiologist in Austin! When my daughter was born, she had 3 heart defects and our pediatrician referred us to Dr. Shapiro. He came to the hospital when she was born and explained exactly what was wrong and what tests we needed to do. Before he put the stethoscope on her chest, he would warm it up in his hands so it wouldn't be cold.
