This family run steakhouse has been a Spartanburg establishment for over 40 years. The cozy restaurant is rife with nostalgia of Southern homes and civil war antiques while the cuisine has remained classically delicious. Choose to start your meal with the gourmet salad bar filled with fresh, local produce or a hot house-made soup. The dinner menu is filled with mouth-watering hand-cut steaks like prime rib, filet mignon, new york strip or the ribeye. The staff also offers to give you a sampling of the different cuts if you c... read more

This would be a second visit to this steak house with very little chance of returning for a third. The bar opens prior to 5pm but the dining room does not officially open until 5pm, at which time they begin seating those with reservations. We had reservations for 5pm and made sure to arrive a little early only to find the bar and lobby area already completely full of customers, standing room only. We checked in with the hostess, at which time it became quite clear she was not interested in holding any sort of conversati... read more
I'm a 50+ year cook and homemaker--I know how to grill a steak...this place is a joke. Went here one time and the steak was very poor quality and not cooked to order. No one showed us any raw steak to select a cut from as advertised. The bread was so stale you couldn't eat it. Service was even worse. The hostess sat us in a back, dark room where no other customers were and never came back until she gave us our ticket. Don't know if the hostess thought us unworthy of better seating since we were dressed very nice and conserva... read more
Not a good steak – My employee's gave me a gift certificate for my birthday. Ordered 14oz new york strip. Sat in bar to watch Ala-Florida game. They did not come to table and cut the meat. Got a thin piece of grizzle for 33.00. Sent it back and the manager came and told me that new york strips have fat in them. Rude!!!!!! I have been to Ruth Chris, Del Frisco, Lawry's and stesk houses all over this county. I know what a New york strip is. I think they get there meat at Bilo. Poor service. Need not to consider them as a great... read more
Was Great - Now Average This is another spot my husband and I have visited numerous times over the past 20 years. I think we even went there for a high school prom dinner once. Way back when, they set the standard for steak houses in the area, but not anymore. The steaks there are decent, but nothing to brag about. I'll give them 3 out of 5 stars.
Great Dinner – this is an intimate small restaurant.. always packed unless you go early .. the rib eye is presented to you raw and in whole form so you can choose how thick you want it .. the menu is recited daily ( a nice cosmopolitant touch). the salad bar is one of the best .. seafood is freash.. and this place has a nice ski lodge lounge bar for informal gathering of friends. I highly recommend this place if you want to impress your date . significant other or guest . and you dont need a flashilight to see your food like... read more
