Great food, but some troubles otherwise – First, the food was great overall. I had the duck breast/thigh confit with fingerling potatoes and it was just terrific. The fingerling potatoes were sliced in half length-wise and were crispy outside and fluffy inside--wonderful. For a first course I had lamb carpaccio and it was very good, with excellent parmesan and arugula, although I would still choose beef carpaccio as the lamb was less flavorful. My wife had the cauliflower panna cotta (which I tasted). This dish (pure cold ca... read more
Wonderful experience, good value – This restaraunt rates a low to mid range price for downtown Portland, and is well worth trying. The food is nothing short of fabulous - try the caesar salad and salmon ravioli! The service is attentive and polite. The ambiance is very welcoming and romantic. Nothing to not recommend here - a great experience overall!
Fresh food that goes beyond ordinary pastas. wonderful atmosphere for meeting friends – Whenever I visit Portland I plan on having some wonderful meals at Pazzo. The food is all fresh and decidedly tasty. I love the pumpkin ravioli as well as some of the other original dishes the chef has offered. The location and atmosphere make the restaurant a star attraction for me. Professional but friendly waitstaff.
NOT GOOD – THE SERVICE IS SUB-PAR. THE FOOD IS BELOW NOT BEING RECOMMENDED. FIVE BITES OF PASTA, WITH FOUR SHRIMP, TINY CLAMS, AND A CAN OF TOMATOS THROWN ON TOP FOR $20!!! GIVE ME A BREAK. NOT TO MENTION THE NOISE...IT'S AS LOUD AS A HIGH SCHOOL CAFETERIA IS ON FREE TACO DAY. I WILL NEVER GO BACK, NOR WILL I RECOMMEND IT (EXCEPT TO MY WORST ENEMY). OH, AND MY FRIEND HAD THE SPAGHETTI...IF THAT'S WHAT YOU WANT TO CALL IT. MY HIGH SCHOOL CAFETERIA ACTUALLY AD BETTER SPAGHETTI FOR 3 DOLLARS. PEACE. OUT.
Classic Italian cuisine meets Pacific Northwest ingredients for elegant dining in the Hotel Vintage Plaza. – In Short The dining room's rich wood accents and opulent fixtures are in view of the gleaming open kitchen. Secluded and serene seating in the back caters to business diners and romantics while the chic bar is crowded with pre- and post-theater folks sipping scotches and noshing from the lounge menu. Traditional pastas anchor the menu, which also features duck with kumquat sauce and regional Italian dishes: tre cicche... read more
Fine dining – The food is really good here, especially given that Portland has always been weak on Italian food. The service is friendly and the room has a clubby atmosphere - neither very intimate nor unfriendly. Recommend getting an appetizer, a first and a second and a dessert - it's all good. Prices are high but not outrageous.
Great atmosphere, good cocktails, and good food! – My wife and I go here every couple of weeks and we always enjoy ourselves. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere makes you feel very comfortable. Tye Pazzo Platter is a nice variety of antipasto including a delicious duck liver pate, pickled beets, tasty charcuterie, and olives. Their pizzas are pretty good, too. If you're lucky, you'll come in on a night that Geoffrey is tending the bar. He's very knowledgeable about cocktails, wine and the beers that are on tap. Th... read more
Love it! – This is the second time I have driven from the suburbs to Pazzos downtown for lunch. It is well worth the trip. Food and service are excellent. The whole experience makes it seem special. Highly recommend Pazzos!
charming, delightful experience – The food is delightful, fresh ingrediants with the perfect blend of flavors. The atmosphere is welcoming, not too loud. The decor is soothing. Sometime I dine alone and unfortunatly am treated poorly at some resturants. However, I was treated so well here. The Hostess and the waitress went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and at home. I was able to fully relax and enjoy my delicious meal. The wine was excellent!
