To start off the review, if I could leave a " 0 " star I would do that. I had Payne come out on Monday 7/14/2025 to take a look at my thermostat that I was having problems with and when the tech got there he kept complaining about it raining and that he could not fully test the system and stated he had no way to test my thermostat and that I would have to buy one from him for $194 ( you can buy a 2 pack from homedepot for $84 Payne will rip you off BEWARE! they are the Honeywell T4 and keep in mind this thermostat is not mad... read more
Based on all the positive reviews, I’ll boil my experience down as a one off. My elderly father called Payne to seek some relief from the heat when his AC wasn’t running at its best. Payne was timely and courteous, but was COMPLETELY dishonest when it came to a solution to the problem. We were presented with two options: $5000 to replace the condenser coil or $13000 to replace the unit. Called at 7:45am and they had a technician on his way by 9am. Felix showed up to a wreck of an AC system in my house. Took all the time needed to make my system work like new. He could have walked away from it, but said he would do his best. His best was 110% Explained everything clearly and gave me my options. I would recommend him to anyone needing service.
24/7 on call is a great thing to tell your customers. My mother has medical issues we told the man the price doesn’t matter to us my mothers health is what matters and this is how it went….
[UPDATED REVIEW] We purchased our home in April. It is a newer build with a Lennox 3-ton HVAC system installed by Payne Air. From the time we moved in, the system showed clear signs of struggling. The AC ran for long stretches without achieving desired temperatures, airflow was weak, and the back bedrooms would climb into the 90s during the afternoon.
