Dishonest and crappy cars The service (car rental business) sucked, the car was a minivan when I requested and confirmed an economy/compact, the car unlock button didn't work, and the windshield wipers were broken. Additionally, the car service rep signed me up for add-on services that I never agreed to. When I tried arguing them when I returned my car and paid, the lady ignored me and walked away. Payless Cars is crap.

Stealing from Customers Denver no longer has toll booths and has gone totally electronic. This has been a challenge for car rental companies there, but some are taking the opportunity to steal from their customers. Payless Car Rental in one such company. They surcharged us $25 for 20 hours of toll road use Tues (1/19)-Weds(1/20). Other Car Rentals at Denver International charge $8.99 at the very most, or $2.50+ toll fees charged. Total scammers. I see a class action lawsuit in their future I rented a car from these idiots. They certainly did NOT tell me there was a $50 charge for toll roads before I rented the car. (I've rented cars over 100 times in the last two years - in some cases I've unknowingly paid for the fast-pass - but at an extra charge of $2 or so - not worth complaining about.) SCAM: Toll Fees I am placing a complaint with the BBB because this company does not educate its renters of the toll system in CO and generously assigns fees for violations without an opportunity to rectify the situation. We were unaware that toll roads in CO were unable to be paid by cash and we were never instructed to avoid any certain roads (a toll being one of the first roads you leave from the airport). As good as Hertz Gold, for half the price I just rented for the first time with Payless, on a trip to Denver. I can't praise them enough. I did work to set everything up inn advance, and joined their frequent renter program (run specifically out of Denver; this is different than the larger company one program), and sent in my d/l and credit card information in advance.
